About

Behind Paulaine is a person passionate about the textile arts.

Originally from France, I grew up in the Paris region, where I lived until I began my university studies. In 2010, I moved to Switzerland to complete my Master’s degree in Geography.

I went on to build my career in the geospatial field while gradually developing another passion: knitting and knitwear design. In 2022, I decided to pursue this passion professionally as an independent knitwear designer and created Paulaine. To further develop my skills in knitwear design, I completed specialized training in knitting pattern grading.

Since then, I have created around twenty designs, ranging from accessories and decorative pieces to garments such as summer tops, skirts and cardigans. My approach to design is also influenced by my interest in shapes, volumes and landscapes, nurtured by my background in geography.

I pay particular attention to the visual identity of my patterns: graphic design, illustration and layout are an integral part of each design and contribute to its overall identity.

In 2024, my summer top design Cinque Terre was selected for publication in Making Stories in 2025. This first publication was followed in 2026 by another in Laine Magazine, featuring Murano, a top designed for spring.

Through Paulaine, I now create designs that combine creativity, simplicity and the joy of knitting, with the aim of offering contemporary pieces that are as enjoyable to knit as they are to wear.
